A timeless piece that keeps on Ringing – Hotelfietsbel

Transport yourself to a luxurious hotel lobby. You place your bags on the ground, slowly turning around while taking off an oversized sun hat too large for any real practical purpose. It’s Dior’s feature accessory in their 1954 spring collection. Anyone who looks at it would agree that it is beautiful. You place your hat down on the counter of the hotel reception and "Ding, Ding" you are greeted by a young handsome man no older than eighteen... a boy really. A bell boy. This image, similar to a scene from an Audrey Hepburn film comes to mind every time I see the Hotelfietsbel Bell.

The Bell Hop Bell inspires iconic memories from the 1950’s and inspires thoughts of a young carefree woman in a wonderful sundress cycling down a quaint Parisian city street. There is something fun, flirty and timeless about this bell that brings a smile to my face every time it rings

The Hotelfietsbel Dutch designer, Anton Firma of Amsterdam, masterfully recycles old Bell Hop Bells to be used as bicycle bells. This is Anton's story.
